Hiring: Front-end Developer - React + Ruby (Remote)

Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 for shorter professional experience or $100,000 - $120,000 for longer professional experience, and depending on specific skills and qualifications

We are looking for a software developer who can help grow our products, our engineering efforts and our roadmap by focusing on the user-facing experience of our platform.

This is a full-time position with great benefits, including a competitive compensation structure & a remote work environment. The job requires understanding customer pain points, our product roadmap and implementing code on cross-functional products.

Your day to day work will primarily center around these tools:

  • React & Redux

  • CSS / SASS and mobile-friendly, responsive design

  • A keen eye for product usability & UX, bonus points for design experience

Good skills to have

We’d love to know if you have experience with any of the following, but please don’t count yourself out if you don’t: 

  • Experience working in a remote-first environment
  • Building, editing & maintaining CMS templates to fit design guidelines
  • Familiarity with mapping toolkits like Leaflet or Mapbox

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of software developers & data engineers across all of our product lines
  • Contribute code to front- and back-end features in our Rails application, with a focus on UI development
  • Ability to split your time on a weekly basis between roadmap priorities, bugs and customer requests.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in software development in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in communicating data & product requirements and interpreting customer expectations
  • Ability to troubleshoot quickly and implement solutions to address bugs & mission critical issues
  • Help scope/solution out custom professional services development work, built on top of our Landgrid mapping platform

Sales Development Representative(Remote)

Role:

1. Execute company processes to convert inbound leads into Sales Qualified Leads (SQL) with a hand-off to an Account Executive

2. Parse all inbound communications and direct into appropriate processs and responsible party

3. Execute company outbound lead development programs, advancing leads into Sales Qualified Leads with a hand-off to an Account Executive

4. Regularly report on quantity, velocity, quality and conversion of leads into SQLs

5. Participate in team meetings and department strategy sessions

 

Expectations:

Deliver results. Handle the volume. Be effective with prioritization and diligent with follow-up.

Build relationships. Work closely with the sales organization and other company teams to further develop the lead into SQLs

Become an expert. Leverage the CRM and be diligent about creating/managing all data and activities.

The work

This position will involve obtaining, standardizing, and cleaning parcel data provided by counties or other levels of government. A keen eye for detail is appreciated, as is thoroughness. The day to day process for this individual would involve working closely with the Geographic Data Manager to obtain and process these counties as part of Loveland's parcel workflow. 

 

Core skills we’re looking for: 

  • An inquisitive mind and desire to learn data tools and techniques
  • Attention to detail and the ability to find patterns and problems in complex information
  • Experience working with tabular data (for example, Excel files and CSVs)
  • Experience writing straightforward SQL queries (selects, basic joins), or a history of learning similar technical skills. We provide training on how to use a database client to load and query data. 

Bonus points: 

  • Familiarity with the basics of GIS, or a desire to learn. Maybe you’ve used QGIS, ogr2ogr, Mapbox, CartoDB, GeoJSON, or other geospatial tools and formats
  • Some level of familiarity with US County government structure and/or parcel data
  • Some experience in PostgreSQL and PostGIS greatly appreciated 
  • Some familiarity with GitHub and GitHub workflow
  • Familiarity with the Mac or Linux command line (ability to navigate directories, move and delete files, run commands)
  • Beginner knowledge of a programming language like ruby, python, or javascript, and/or a desire to learn 
  • You have a portfolio of data-focused projects you’ve contributed to, and/or you’ve published your code on GitHub or elsewhere

 

In this job, we will ask you to:

  • Quickly evaluate data quality and decide if it meets our standards
  • Clean and explore data in Postgres
  • Use our internal tools to download records from government websites
  • Learn skills related to collecting and managing geodata

While this job does require strong communication skills and comfort working on the phone making outbound calls, it is not a sales position.

 

The work

This position involves reaching out to local governments by phone, email, letter, and maybe even fax to help us collect public data. A keen eye for detail is appreciated, as is thoroughness. 

The day to day process for this individual would involve working closely with the Geographic Data Manager to prioritize and contact counties and cities as part of Loveland's parcel workflow. You will explain the data we are looking for, identify the best sources, coordinate the data transfer, and follow up as needed. In addition, you will help evaluate data quality and assist with data QA. 

 

Core skills we’re looking for: 

  • Experience with professional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to personably, accurately, and persuasively communicate about technical subjects
  • An inquisitive mind and interest in working with data
  • Experience working with tabular data, for example spreadsheets (especially CSVs) and databases -- but you don’t need to be a data scientist or programmer. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to to manage many ongoing conversations. 

 

Bonus points: 

  • Familiarity with local US government structures, especially County and State governments, and the data available through them, especially parcel data
